In October 2004, we visited Dale's parents in Northside, NC. Ida, Dale's mother, was starting chemotherapy for ovarian cancer, and we showed up to help out. The visit was emotionally hard on all of us. We're happy to report that the chemotherapy was successful, and the cancer has been in remission since February 2005.
Dale's parents did not need our help at the hospital, so we spent that day hunting geocaches in Butner. We found quite a few, and had a good time looking at the beautiful fall leaves.
On another day, Dale went to the tobacco farm where he worked from the ages of 11 to 17. He took some pictures of the buildings, equipment, and Al Lyon, the farmer he worked for.
